By paying attention to your diet, to what you eat, you could avoid, and even get rid of your inflammation, which is the cause of many diseases and even a reason why you can’t lose weight, why your weight just won’t budge.
One kind of inflammation is when the body reacts to a “hurt”, such as sprained ankles or cuts. BUT, there is another kind of inflammation, a much more serious one — and this is the kind that our bodies use to fight:
– bacteria, or viruses or other invaders.
And voila, your body is attacked!
Although this kind of attack is good to a point, the problem comes when the body can no longer turn off this “attack”. It then turns into Chronic Inflammation.
And, this then becomes the kind of inflammation that causes disease!
Here Are 5 Foods To Eat To Fight Inflammation
Try to include these into your diet at least for 3-4 times a week
1. Cold Water Fish (Preferably NOT farm fish)
Cold water fish supply you with that amazing omega3 essential-fatty acids. These are: DHA or docosohexanoic acid and EPA eicosapentanoic acid. These two fish oil fatty acids have very powerful anti inflammatory properties. These have been shown, scientifically, to have benefits to:
– help decrease heart disease,
– help fight against arteriosclerosis,
– help manage depression,
– and much, much more,
1 Cold water fish such as: Atlantic salmon, cold water herring, and sardines and tuna. These are all good options to add to your diet.
And, if you don’t like to eat fish, or even to supplement the fish you eat, try adding a good, high quality and affordable fish oil supplement to your diet!
2. Add Lots Of Fruit And Vegetables
Fruits and veggies are full of phytochemicals. This are known to prevent and even reverse the process of inflammation. Sad
to say, most North Americans are rather eating processed or fast foods.
Try to eat 5-10 portions of fruit/vegetables per day: So what is one serving you ask?
• 1 medium vegetable or fruit (the size of palm)
• 1/2 cup of fruit/vegetable juice. V8 is very low in carbs and natural sugars
• 1 serving, about a cup, of salad
• 1/2 cup of frozen, or canned vegetable or fruit…
Try to add a variety of colors to your meals.
3. Eat Your Nuts and seeds
You only need a 1/2 handful a day, they have so many benefits and are very good for you.
4. Fish oils
It is recommended by many reputable doctors to supplement your diet (even if you are eating fish a few times a week) with a high purity quality, high dosage fish oil. This will give you a very powerful anti-inflammatory boost. The omega-3 most recommended dose for adults is 2 grams a day.
